What is ETIAS?

ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorisation System. It is an electronic travel authorisation — not a visa — required for citizens of countries that currently do not need a visa to visit Europe.

If you are from one of the eligible countries, you will need to obtain ETIAS before traveling to the Schengen Area or other participating European countries. The process is entirely online, takes about 10 minutes, and costs €20.

Once approved, ETIAS is linked to your passport and valid for multiple trips over 3 years.

Not a visa

ETIAS is an authorisation, not a visa stamp. No embassy visit required.

100% online

Apply from home in about 10 minutes. No paperwork.

Multiple entries

Travel as many times as you like within the validity period.

Linked to your passport

No stickers or stamps. ETIAS is stored electronically.
